// “Where’d You Go, Bernadette?” by Maria Semple

I spent a lot of my time over the holidays working on decompressing a bit – spending less time with my face in front of a screen & more time unplugged, giving my mind a chance to wander a bit and a break from thinking. As part of this, I read three books in a week and it was absolutely glorious. Reading is something I’ve always loved – I minored in English and have the habit of binge reading through an entire book in a matter of hours, simply unable to tear myself away from the pages.

One of the books I devoured was, “Where’d You Go, Bernadette?” and I absolutely loved it. The story is told through a series of emails, letters and anecdotes from the characters, all leading up to the mysterious disappearance of a mother and her daughter’s quest to piece everything together to find her again. It’s lighthearted, descriptive and overall hilarious, allowing you to perfectly visualize the characters and their actions and is a nice simple read for a weekend of decompressing.

Have you read “Where’d You Go, Bernadette?” What was the last book you’ve read recently? Any recommendations for what I should read next?
