Stripes & Bows.
For anyone who is in freezing weather right now, I’m sorry. With my trip to Mexico just around the corner and March only a few days away, I can’t help but think (and shop) spring right now, making me eager to swap out my sweaters for lighter pieces.
I’ve found the off the shoulder trend to be hit or miss for me (remember this top last year? Looking back on those photos I hate how it looks on me!) so I was a little hesitant to add this striped top from J. Crew to my shopping cart, but couldn’t resist giving it a try thanks to the bow detail on the sleeves. There may have been an audible squeal when it arrived and actually looked good and now it’s currently packed in my suitcase for Tulum to be pared with white shorts and sandals, ready for it’s tropical debut.
To ease the transition into warmer weather pieces, I paired the top with a classic pair of dark skinny denim (can’t go wrong with Madewell denim in my book!) and my all-time favorite sandals from Old Navy. Fun fact: last year I grabbed them in brown and wore them non-stop all spring and summer, getting countless questions about where they were from since they look way more expensive than their $19 price tag. Even after a full season of heavy wear around San Francisco and on every vacation I took over the summer, they still held strong so when I spotted them back on Old Navy’s website, I scooped them up in gold and black as well – I’m fully stocked now!
Have you been doing any spring and summer shopping yet?
